"The Spiritual life is not a life then and there, but a life here and now. It is a life in which the spirit of God is revealed in the ordinary encounters of everyday." - Henri Nouwen

RN School
The summer has flown by and once again I am back in class. My class consists of 18 LPN's with a diverse background of experience - from ER to L&D to Psych to office nursing. I am really looking forward to working with these people and being able to share from the variety of our resources. I have two amazing instructors - 1 was a previous LPN instructor whom I adored and the other 1 I had never met before but she is very kind and I really anticipate that she will challenge and encourage me along the way. This program is not without its intimidations, however. Many old fears from my previous LPN program experience have taunted me. I never really became confident in many of the typical nursing "skills" and have been working in an office for 8 years so I haven't had to practice them. Now I have about 6 weeks to become competent enough to get "signed off". In addition, although I only have class one day a week, the homework required is "full time". I am excited for the challenge and I am so blessed that this time around I have strong resources available for assistance. It is pretty handy to have doctors, nurses, pharmacists, PA's, lab techs, etc as some of your best friends :)
So, 15 months from now...in 12/2012 I will have overcome many challenges and grown significantly and will hopefully be on my way to taking the boards! And, hopefully, I can keep this blog updated occasionally so I can look back and see my progress :)
