It Dropped in My Lap

See that picture, at the top of the blog? I get to go back there in 3 weeks. I simply can't believe it. Eight years ago I went to Maui and spent 2 fascinating months there and have wanted to return ever since.

I received an email last Thursday..."the coffee harvest is really heavy this year...it is ripening faster than in past years and I find myself with a huge crop and not enough pickers..." "Hmm", I thought, "I have two weeks off at the end of June. No school. No homework. Paid vacation time from work. Some savings for a rainy day. The opportunity came to me, I wasn't out looking for it." Seemed like something I should at least consider.

So, with prayers and counsel and nothing but green "go ahead" lights, I booked an unbelievably affordable round trip ticket from Idaho Falls to Maui. In fact, it was cheaper to fly out of I.F. than SLC or Boise. Unheard of. I will be working at Maui Mountain Coffee picking organic fair trade coffee beans. ;-D and in my time off I hope do a lot of hiking and maybe drive to Hana, oh, and beach time too! Maui is a little drop of heaven to me.

Oh Jenny, how exciting!! I wonder what the wages-vs-living is between nursing in blackfoot and coffee-farming in Hawaii... Might you be in for a career change? :D

I envy you this opportunity my friend.. I hope you have a blessed time!!!

Lol, I should finish school first and then move to Maui and work as a nurse. That should pay ok :)
